Martin Sime | chief executive
Martin leads the staff team at SCVO. He reports directly to the Board, who are elected from our membership organisations.
Martin is a well-known commentator on public affairs in Scotland. He was an Expert Advisor to the Christie Commission on public service reform and works closely with the Scottish Government at all levels to advance the interests of the third sector.
Lucy McTernan | deputy chief executive
Lucy is responsible for all SCVO external-facing operations, cross-directorate planning and strategy, and deputises for the CEO.
Lucy has a wealth of experience in Scotland's third sector. She has worked for SCVO for over 18 years and is a former member of the Scotland committee of the Big Lottery Fund.
John Downie | director of public affairs
John leads the Public Affairs department, including the policy and research team and the communications and campaigns team. He has lead responsibility for SCVO’s internal and external communications and engagement with politicians.
John Ferguson | director of development
John leads SCVO’s development and rural teams. This includes our work on Goodmoves, Equalities, Social Economy, the rural dimension of Scotland’s third sector as well as engagement with and monitoring of European Structural Funds.
Tim Hencher | director of finance & resources
Tim is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day operation of the key support services, Finance, ICT, HR and Facilities. He is also on the committee of the Scottish Charity Finance Directors’ Group.
Donna Mackinnon | director of employment services
Donna leads SCVO’s engagement in employability programmes and provides strategic guidance to the Directorate and Board on SCVO’s ongoing and future engagement in the employability agenda. This includes work on Community Jobs Scotland and internships.
