Our annual review
Our annual review 2011 gives a brief overview of SCVO’s activities from April 2010 to March 2011.
During this period SCVO, like many of our member organisations and the wider sector, experienced significant change.
‘Doing things differently’ is firmly embedded as our new mantra. The changing political, economic and funding environment led to a revision of SCVO’s operational plan.
Unfortunately not immune from funding cuts, SCVO could not avoid the painful loss of valued colleagues. But we still have to deliver and to help more people to help themselves and each other. We have to keep pressure on politicians to radically reform our public services for the greater good, building on the Christie Commission’s recommendations to put people first and to focus on preventative spend.
Despite the challenging backdrop, there are many successes to report, including the production of a successful third sector manifesto, growing SCVO membership and Community Jobs Scotland.
