The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) is the national body representing the voluntary sector in Scotland.  It's mission is to advance the values and interests shared by the voluntary sector, by fostering co-operation, promoting best practice and delivering sustainable services.    

From 1st April 2004, SCVO has had direct responsibility for the development and co-ordination of the CVS Network.  Their role in relation to the CVS Network is to:   

• Provide leadership and a sense of common purpose       
• Build CVS capacity       
• Attract funding and resources       
• Strengthen the provision of information and advice to the voluntary sector 
• Support networking and the exchange of good practice       
• Improve performance and the quality of services       
• Develop skills, training and learning       
• Explore early opportunities for re-branding the CVS Network
