There are approximately 800 groups in South Ayrshire including a large number of small groups with limited budgets. A few national organisations such as WRVS, Red Cross, Enable, LEAD and Barnardos are active locally.
The CVO plays an active role in supporting around 100 groups and in developing the Community Care Forum, the Voluntary Sector Forum and the Anti Poverty Group as well as representing voluntary sector interests on 8 multi agency partnerships and strategic groups. |
