Direct Grants Now Closed

The Direct Grants Programme has now fully allocated the grant fund totalling £3.2 million.  395 awards have been distributed to projects in Glasgow & the West of Scotland, Grampian, Lothians & Forth Valley, Fife & Tayside, Scottish Borders and Dumfries & Galloway.   Summaries of all supported projects can be read by clicking on the above link.

We are producing a CD that will include details of approved projects, our evaluation report and other relevant and interesting information about the programme.  This CD will be sent to all supported projects and other interested parties.  If you would wish to be included on our mailing list please use this contact address.

Our programme review can be downloaded using this link.  The review is in PDF format (filesize - 483kb).

There will not be a second phase of Direct Grants.

The following is a quote from the latest Communities Scotland advice note on the Futurebuilders programmes:

"Objective 3 Match Funding

We (Communities Scotland) are exploring the possibility  of the Seedcorn Fund being matched at source with Objective 3 Global Grants European Structural Funds so we can increase the total resources available to support the social economy in lowland Scotland - individual grants retain their £50,000 limit. Further advice will be issued shortly - please contact us (Communities Scotland or any of the CS Area Offices) if there are any immediate queries."

Interested voluntary organisations and community groups should be aware that the focus and eligibility criteria for the Seedcorn Fund differs significantly from those of the direct Grants Programme.  Any questions on eligibility should be addressed to Communities Scotland.

SCVO are in discussion with Communities Scotland about how we can cooperate in the promotion and delivery of the Seedcorn fund and how we and key partners, such as the CVS network, can best support applicants groups in receipt of awards.
