SCVO
aims to encourage voluntary organisations
to work together to mainstream
equality
across the spectrum of discrimination
issues. This involves an increasing amount
of policy
work as
SCVO seeks to keep abreast of developments
in the Scottish Parliament and the
Executive in relation to equalities.
The Policy Committee of SCVO has
consistently highlighted the promotion of
equality as a priority for SCVO and the
sector as a whole. After all many
voluntary organisations exist to serve the
needs of minority or disadvantaged groups.
The vision of SCVO is for a voluntary
sector that is accessible, relevant and
dynamic in meeting the needs of a diverse
population and an expanding workforce. It
is this vision which drives our policy
work, internally and in relation to wider
society.
All
equalities policy responses from SCVO are
agreed by our Policy Committee.
