Event overview

This research launch event gives you the latest evidence on digital inclusion. Through case studies and literature review SCVO and University of West of Scotland have evidence of what works best when tackling digital exclusion in Scotland.

Event description

Right now in Scotland, one in five adults lack Basic Digital Skills. These are the skills of safely communicating, transacting, managing information, problem solving and creating content to use the internet as part of modern day to day life. The people most likely not to have these skills are older, poorer and facing other forms of disadvantage. In order to tackle exclusion and inequalities, our work focuses on equipping everyone with these skills.

Join SCVO and University of West of Scotland on 22 August, Edinburgh to identify how we can work collectively to reverse this situation. Lunch and time for networking are included in the event timings.

Learning outcomes & objectives

Through a number of projects we have evidence as to what works best when passing on basic digital skills to be most vulnerable people in Scotland and we are keen to share this.

Who is event aimed at?

Those working with vulnerable groups of people interested in learning more about digital inclusion and basic digital skills and why it is so important.
