22 Aug 08	Community Learning and Development The Standards Council for CLD Is inviting key employers in the field of CLD, to a half day discussion session in Edinburgh on the 9th of September. This event is for employers and training providers (and anyone else who is interested) to discuss the issues and to form a collective response to the QAA’s consultation on the benchmark statement for “Youth work, community education and community development” qualifications across the UK.
14 Aug 08	The SURF Awards for Best Practice in Urban Regeneration 2008 The Scottish Urban Regeneration Forum (SURF) and the Scottish Government's Scottish Centre for Regeneration (SCR) are teaming up again to deliver the prestigious SURF Awards for Best Practice in Urban Regeneration 2008. These are presented each year to projects that are doing outstanding regeneration work in some of Scotland's most disadvantaged communities. The deadline for nominations is 12 noon on Friday 19 September 2009.
14 Aug 08	Scottish Charity Perspectives The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator has published 'Public and Charity Perspectives: Summary of the 2008 OSCR Surveys'. Two surveys carried out earlier this year tracked levels of public trust in Scottish charities and sought feedback from charities on OSCR's priorities, communications and operational functions.
13 Aug 08	A Consultation on the Next Generation of National Qualifications in Scotland The Scottish Government wants a qualifications system that works for all young people. This consultation sets out a range of proposals designed to ensure that National Qualifications equip young people for the demands of the Twenty-first Century. In the Foreword to the document, Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, says: "we must ensure that our qualifications system helps to deliver the values, purposes and principles of Curriculum for Excellence".
04 Aug 08	Community Learning and Development Workforce Survey 2008 The Community Leaning and Development Workforce Survey 2008 report has been published. LLUK received funding from Learning Connections to undertake the research which builds on the findings of the initial 2006 survey.
