This strand of Community Jobs Scotland aims to support young people aged 16–24 years with disabilities and/or health related issues into sustainable employment.

We aim to create 100 jobs within a wide range of third sector organisations throughout Scotland.

These jobs can be offered on a part-time basis and contracts must be for at least 18 months, which is longer than most other CJS contracts. In addition, employees and employer will get support from your local Work Choice provider.

The jobs must:

  • be within the third sector
  • be additional
  • offer community benefit
  • pay at least minimum wage
  • be for at least 16 hours a week
  • last at least 78 weeks (18 months)

The young person becomes an employee of the employing organisation and is covered by the same policies and procedures as any other staff member.

The maximum funding available for each of these jobs  is £7,624.96 to cover the costs of the wage and employers NI.
