SCVO has been delivering employment services since our involvement in the New Deal for Young People in 1998.

In 2009, SCVO led an award-winning Consortium of hundreds of third sector employers across Scotland to successfully bid and commence delivery of the Future Jobs Fund. Since then, SCVO has continued to manage and develop this network of over 500 different employers to create jobs in the third sector. Our combined programmes have now supported over 6,500 young unemployed people into work – most notably through the Scottish Government’s Community Jobs Scotland programme.

We have demonstrated that our unique approach can equally benefit people with a variety of barriers to work, including: lack of work experience, low skills levels, disabilities and long-term health conditions, care leavers, ex-offenders and unemployed graduates.

These programmes have the additional benefit of providing extra capacity in third sector organisations at a time when record high demand for services is clashing with falling income.
