Services & membership benefits

The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) is the only national organisation to represent the interests of the third sector in Scotland.

In the face of funding cuts and increasing demand for services, these are challenging times for charities, community groups, social enterprises and voluntary organisations.

Every penny counts.  Whatever your size or scale, membership of SCVO can help you develop and save money for your organisation now, as well as invest in the future.

What we offer:

Money saving discounts, deals and shared services
“The services offered by SCVO mean we can save time and money.  One of the most important to us is the payroll service… recently we’ve made savings by changing office supplier and printing services”
Catherine Eadie, Depression Alliance Scotland
Free information and advice
From our freephone Information Service – 0800 169 0022 – and free Legal Advice Service to our regular e-bulletins, we are constantly gathering and sharing information tailored to your needs.
Up to the minute news, views and job opportunities
Third Force News (TFN) is Scotland’s only weekly paper and online news portal dedicated to the third sector.  It covers everything from fundraising and governance to volunteering and general human interest stories. It also features the best jobs from across the third sector, brought to you by SCVO’s recruitment advertising and careers hub, goodmoves.
Networking and development opportunities within and beyond the sector
Free interest-based networks and access to discounted training and high profile events including the Gathering and the Scottish Charity Awards, ensure SCVO members are ahead of the game when it comes to making connections and developing their organisations and staff.
Opportunities to influence Scottish decision makers
Whether it’s campaigning against funding cuts or advocating for a greater role for third sector organisations in public service delivery, our member’s set our agenda and determine our approach to influencing debate, policy and practice.
Practical opportunities to work together for the common good
SCVO is the place where the third sector gets to make a difference together. By working with third sector partners on the Future Jobs Fund, we created meaningful and rewarding jobs for over 2,000 unemployed young people. And the new Community Jobs Scotland Initiative will create 2,000 more.

Individually, our members touch the lives of people and communities every day; together, we find ways to support and extend that work and to influence the future of our sector and Scotland. We are Stronger Together.
