SCVO Charity Town photography competition terms & conditions

Photographs should be submitted to as email attachments to charitytown@scvo.org.uk. In submitting your photographs you agree to the terms and conditions outlined below.

  1. Files should be submitted as high resolution jpgs and should ideally be between 1mb and 7mb. If the file size is less than 1mb, the photo is unlikely to be able to be clearly reproduced in print at the correct size for the exhibition and thus would not make the final selection. If using a mobile phone, please ensure your device’s camera is set to take jpgs at the largest possible size and resolution and not for email or web publishing. If using a DSLR camera, please ensure your settings are at the highest possible jpg resolution, but not in RAW format.
  2. Please ensure the file names of each photo contain the contestant’s name.
  3. Please submit only your sharpest and clearest photos – blurred, over-exposed or under-lit shots will not be considered.
  4. Photographs are best submitted to as email attachments to charitytown@scvo.org.uk.
  5. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.
  6. Photographs must have been taken in the last three years, between 1 January 2013 and 31 December 2015.
  7. Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition.
  8. The prizesare as described and no monetary alternative will be given.
  9. You must be age 18 or over to enter. SCVO staff cannot apply.
  10. Closing date for entry is 31 December 2015.
  11. SCVO will assess all entries. The selected winners are final.

Winning entries will be announced by 17 February 2016 on www.scvo.org.uk.
