Regeneration and Community Planning
What's new in community regeneration?

SCVO is working in close partnership with the Scottish Centre for Regeneration (SCR), part of Communities Scotland. The SCR’s work is informed by the Scottish Executive’s Community Regeneration statement - Better Communities in Scotland: Closing the Gap.

The SCR helps build skills and expertise and share knowledge among those working in regeneration. The Centre is responsible for developing new and practical approaches to regeneration and the promotion of best practice.

The SCR launched an eBulletin service in January 2005. Designed for anyone involved in community regeneration, this free monthly service aims to keep people up to date with what’s happening across Scotland and beyond. Focusing each month on a different theme in regeneration, the eBulletin includes updates on the SCR's work programme, funding opportunities, policy and development news and forthcoming events.

The eBulletin is also a way for you to make contacts and build networks, share ideas and tell others what you do. As part of this service, interested parties are invited to place requests for information that could help you in your work. If you have information you would like to share more widely contact Moira Tasker.

The SCR eBulletin is issued on the last Wednesday of every month to subscribe click here or send an email with 'subscribe' in the subject line to moira.tasker@scvo.org.uk

 Best Practice Project Profiles

The Scottish Centre for Regeneration also manages a database of project profiles which highlight innovation and excellence in community regeneration. Projects include the BME Linked Work and Training Trust and the North Edinburgh Arts Centre. The projects are designed to help others working in regeneration share ideas and explore what works and what doesn't in community regeneration.

If you work with a community project and would like your achievements to be considered for inclusion in this prestigious resource, submit an online application form or contact Moira Tasker at the Scottish Centre for Regeneration on 0141 419 1690 or at SCVO on 0131 556 3882.
