Fundraising is often the biggest headache for voluntary organisations. These pages provide guidance on what kind of funds are out there and who is providing them (both well known and less well known) and how to access them as well as some information on activities that enable self-generation of funds (such as trading) and links to best practice in fundraising.

Funding Types
There are numerous different types of funding, both more and less well known. This section of the site provides an introduction to them and includes information on grants, loans, subscriptions, sponsorship, appeals, street collections, donations, legacies, fundraising events, all the way through to payroll giving, equity and tax effective giving such as Gift Aid.
Funding Sources
This section of the site provides information on the largest sources of direct income to the voluntary sector and covers public funding (including local and central government and government agencies), Europe, trusts and the National Lottery.
Trading
Trading can be a lucrative and sustainable source of income. This section provides some technical information on the legal situation of charities and trading and on the most well known methods of trading - retailing through charity shops.
Funding Advice
This section of the site provides information on the law and good practice on fundraising as well as guiding users to the voluntary codes of good practice by means of which the voluntary and charitable sector self regulates.
