The Voluntary Management Essentials Project provides a one-stop information shop for volunteers and staff in Scotland’s 50,000 voluntary organisations. Here, you can access a wide range of free, reliable information on all aspects of setting up and running a voluntary organisation in Scotland, including:
· choosing an appropriate legal structure and drafting a suitable founding document
· roles and responsibilities of charity trustees
· complying with relevant legislation - charity and company law, employment law, accounting regulations - and developing good practice
· capacity building - developing your organisation, raising funds for your work and planning for the future
Until now, most of this material has been available only in hard copy and accessible only during office hours, but, thanks to a grant from the New Opportunities Fund (now the Big Lottery Fund), SCVO is able to offer round-the-clock access to a resource bank of information to help you make informed decisions to better meet the needs of your communities, beneficiaries and supporters.
