Governance of your village or community hall

As well as having a physical space, you will need a group of people who can direct and oversee your village or community hall and make sure it can succeed. Governance means setting the vision for the organisation and running it in a way that will achieve these aims. There are lots of different tasks associated with this role and many ways it can be fulfilled. Governance refers to the systems and processes involved in ensuring the overall direction, supervision, and accountability of an organisation.

Good governance matters because it underpins successful organisations. It matters in all sectors, but especially in ours where the purpose is to serve our beneficiaries and communities as best we can.
