How to make Submissions

About submitting applications
A large proportion of work to be undertaken to deliver the Supporting Voluntary Action portfolio will be allocated according to an application process. Commissioning, from specification to selection, will be by collaboration of key Supporting Voluntary Action partners including representatives from the Councils for Voluntary Service network. The Supporting Voluntary Action Management Group will have a central role including approval of commissioning specifications.

The chief aim in the commissioning process will be to build on the best practice that already exists in the voluntary sector support infrastructure, providing resources to enable the sharing of expertise across the network, and to bring in specialist external support in areas where no such expertise exists. As such, in some areas only selected organisations will be invited to submit proposals whilst an open tender approach will be adopted in others. SCVO is not regarded as a commissioning authority under the terms of the European Union directives and therefore is not required to comply with the OJEU regulations for the purpose of commissioning.

Many of the projects will involve several separate commissions. Where this is the case, the specifications will include full contextual details of the overarching projects and selected delivery agencies will be advised of other agencies involved in delivering the project and required to establish relevant linkages with them.
