Employment initiatives

SCVO has been delivering employment services since our involvement in the New Deal for Young People pilots in 1998. Since then we have secured additional contracts to assist unemployed individuals across Scotland.

We deliver programmes to improve the employability of those facing barriers to entering and progressing in work, such as:

  • long-term unemployment
  • ex-offender background
  • alcohol or drug issues,
  • housing issues,
  • health issues and disabilities
  • low skills levels
  • lack of work experience

Our programmes are tailored to meet the needs of individuals and employers within the context of the local labour market. We partner with the 900+ voluntary organisations across Scotland who offer work experience, training or specialist support to overcome barriers to deliver a variety of programmes on behalf of DWP, Scottish Government and other stakeholders.
