ACRE and its network of Rural Community Councils together deliver a Village Hall Information and Advice Service in England. A series of Village Hall Information Sheets are available for purchase. However, take care as some information may only be applicable to England.
CADISPA
CADISPA is an applied research and community development project based in the Community Education Division, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. CADISPA stands for ‘Conservation & Development in Sparsely Populated Areas’. CADISPA works closely with local community groups, by providing support and advice on strategic issues, and hosts an annual CADISPA Gathering, an opportunity for community development groups across rural Scotland to meet informally with each other and specialists in the fields of funding and project management. At present there are over thirty CADISPA project groups located around the sparsely-populated areas of Scotland. They range from community centre and village hall re-developments to new heritage centres, from social and healthcare facilities to youth cafes. CADISPA community groups have successfully rebuilt crofthouses, constructed village halls and community centres, opened drop-in centres.
Community Halls for Rural People
Community Halls for Rural People has been set up by DEFRA in partnership with Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) as a website for village and community halls in England. It aims to raise awareness of available funding and advice sources for village halls and other community buildings and to provide useful contacts.

If you are looking for inspiration about how to build and run a very rural hall with a low population look no further than Glenuig in the North West Highlands. The website gives information on the fundraising, design and running of the hall built in 1995 by a community of only 35 adults.

The Ethical Property Foundation's Property Advice Service for charities offers commercial property advice to charities and voluntary organisations across London and Bristol. However the website has a lot of information on property mainly for offices but also relevant to community buildings.
