man holding film reel A new fund will give small scale grants for digital projection equipment. This scheme is intended to assist film clubs, community groups, and other bodies in rural areas seeking to present a planned annual programme of DVD screenings. Investment is available to purchase capital equipment up to a maximum cost of £5,000.

Village halls and community buildings are classed as service providers in the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and as such need to comply with the requirements of the Act. In addition, hall committees will want to ensure that their building and activities are genuinely accessible and welcoming to all.

Please note that the cost of living increase to be applied from 1st April 2008 is still under negotiation.
